Dr. Peter Doherty, BA, BDentSc (Trinity College), MFDS (RCSI), PG Cert Implant Dentistry (Newcastle), Dentist
Dr. Doherty studied dentistry at Trinity College in Dublin, where he was awarded a scholarship, and graduated in 2003.
His first year after graduation was spent as a House Officer at Dublin Dental Hospital, gaining a vast amount of experience across several different dental specialties. He then moved to a private practice in Ireland.
Following this, he spent five years in North East England where he worked in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in addition to dental practice.
During this time, he studied implant dentistry at Newcastle Dental Hospital and graduated in 2011. He has travelled extensively to Europe and the USA, furthering his knowledge and abilities with world-renowned experts in the field of implant dentistry, enabling him to provide his patients with the most advanced treatments currently available.
His main interests are in the areas of implant and cosmetic dentistry, and he really enjoys giving patients their smiles back.
Dr. Paul O’Connell, BDentSc (Trinity College), BSc Hons Pharm, Dentist
Dr. O’Connell studied dentistry at Trinity College in Dublin, graduating in 2004. Prior to this, he studied and worked as a pharmacist. Paul has also run his own highly successful dental surgery for over ten years in Limerick City and carries with him a wide range of knowledge and experience in all fields of dentistry.
Paul has trained extensively throughout Europe and the USA, learning various aspects of dentistry, most notably short-term and comprehensive orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and endodontics (root canals).
He studied endodontics at the prestigious Eastman clinic, University College in London and Manchester University, before moving on to study at the top dental cosmetic clinics in Harley street, as well as abroad in Italy.
He trains constantly to improve his knowledge and skills in advanced dental techniques and enjoys applying them to help his patients get the very best in dental care.
Dr. Niall Vallely, BDentSc (Trinity College), Dentist
Dr. Vallely graduated from Dublin’s Trinity College Dental School in 2003 with honours in restorative dentistry.
Upon qualification, he immediately entered into private dental practice where he has gained extensive experience in a broad range of disciplines from family dentistry, complex cosmetic treatments and smile reconstruction.
During this time, Dr Vallely continued to develop his skills attending many courses and lectures in Ireland, U.K., Europe and the USA. He has studied with some of the biggest names in international dentistry such as Pascal Magne and Basil Mizrahi.
By doing this, he has kept up to date with the latest trends, techniques and technology in contemporary dentistry, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to patients. Dr. Vallely has a particular interest in digital smile design and minimally invasive dentistry such as porcelain Veneers and bonding.
Fearghal O'Connell, BA, BDentSc (Trinity College), Dentist
Fearghal graduated from Trinity college with a degree in dental science. During his course he won the Costello medal awarded by the Irish Dental Association.
He also has a degree in physiotherapy, where he graduated from the University of Limerick in 2009.
He worked as a physiotherapist for two years before returning to trinity to undertake his dental degree.
He has a keen interest in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. Furthermore he has recently become a father to a beautful little boy.
Dr. Jennifer Owens, BDS (UCC), Dentist
Jennifer graduated with honours from dentistry in UCC and has since worked in private practice in Australia and Ireland. She is a diplomate of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and currently studying for her Masters in Aesthetic Medicine at St. Bart’s and the London School of Dentistry and Medicine.
Dr. Andoni Jones, Dentist BDS. University Specialist in Oral Implantology
Dr. Thibaut Merit, Dentist BDS.
His thesis work has been awarded with a special prize from the UFSBD, the organisation promoting oral health in France, allowing him to co-author an article published in the French review of pediatric odontology.
After gaining experience in general dentistry and oral surgery by working both at the hospital and in private practices during his school years, Dr. Merit worked as an associate dentist in two private surgeries for a couple of years before moving to Ireland in 2017.
In 2017, he has also earned a University degree from the Medical school of Angers in bone biology and implant dentistry.
Dr. Merit is passionate about every area of his work, from endodontics to prosthodontics, and is thrilled to have joined the team at 3Dental.
Dr. Christopher Ryan, BDS(UCC)
Christopher studied dentistry at UCC and graduated in 2013. After graduating he moved to England where he worked in practice. He also spent 2 years working as a senior house officer in oral and maxillofacial surgery while also working in practice in Cornwall. The hospital helped fine tune his surgical skills.
Christopher likes to treat people in an environment they feel comfortable in and likes to take time to assess patients needs to develop a plan appropriate for them. While in England Christopher regularly attended courses to improve his knowledge and skills. He is currently doing postgraduate training in dental implants in Bristol University and hopes to keep furthering his skills.
Dr Anna Beattie, BA, BdentSc (Trinity College), MFDS (RCSI), Dip Con Sed (Newcastle), DChDent (Oral Surgery), FFD (OS), Oral Surgeon
Dr Beattie is a specialist oral surgeon. She graduated with 1st class honours from Trinity College in 2003. Following a year working as a house officer in the Dublin Dental Hospital, she worked in general dental practice both in Ireland and the UK.
Dr Beattie then worked in Newcastle, in the North East of England, in an Oral and Maxillofacial Unit for 5 years. During this time she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation from Newcastle University.
She completed three years of specialist training in Oral Surgery in the Dublin Dental Hospital, where she was awarded a clinical doctorate in Oral Surgery. Following her specialist training she became a Fellow of the Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Dr Beattie currently holds a teaching post in the Dublin Dental Hospital. She is a registered specialist oral surgeon with the Irish Dental Council and is registered as a provider with VHI, AVIVA, GloHealth and Laya.
Dr Beattie understands that attending for surgical procedures can be daunting. She is happy to discuss treatment options and can provide treatment under conscious sedation.
Dr Jim Griffin, BA, BdentSc (Trinity College),
Dr. Griffin graduated from the Dublin Dental School, Trinity College Dublin. He attended at London Hospital Medical College, Southampton University Hospital and The Regional Orthodontic Unit, St. James Hospital Dublin. He received his specialist training at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland, Oregon. In addition, Dr. Griffin has worked in general practice in London and Southampton, England.
Dr. Griffin has a passion and expertise to provide exceptional treatment specifically designed for each patient. He is an active member of The Irish Dental Association, Orthodontic Society of Ireland, The American Association of Orthodontists and a past secretary of the Irish American Association of Graduate Dental Specialists.
Shauna Ward, Practice Manager
Shauna completed her training in the Dublin Dental School and Hospital. She graduated in 2010 from Trinity College Dublin and obtained her Diploma in Dental Nursing. Shauna is also trained in basic life support and CPR.
Shauna started working in a dental practice in Co. Meath, assisting all areas of dentistry from general, orthodontics, periodontics, implants and sedation.
In 2012, Shauna emigrated to Sydney, Australia. She started working in a specialist Orthodontic practice as a dental assistant and after 3 months of employment was promoted to Practice Manager. Whilst in Sydney, Shauna studied part time and gained a Diploma in Management and an Advanced Diploma in Management.
Shauna believes it is important for continuing education and has attended numerous dental courses, such as Infection Control in the Dental Surgery, Invisalign marketing, Incognito for dental auxiliary staff, as well as numerous dental conferences. Shauna returned to Ireland after 4 years in Australia and started working for 3 Dental.
Shauna is currently studying Digital Marketing and Web Development. In her spare time Shauna enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends and sightseeing around Ireland.

Lisa Kennedy, Dental Nurse
Lisa began her nursing career in Marino College of Further Education from 2013-2015 she then received a national diploma in dental nursing from the NEBDN.
Lisa worked in a general dental practice whilst studying at Marino College. She gained knowledge in different aspects of dentistry throughout her course and especially enjoys orthodontics.
She really likes to see patients leave the surgery happy with their new smile.
She also has received a distinction in first aid and is qualified in CPR training.
Vicky O'Shaugnessy, Dental Nurse
Vicky has a BA in Applied Social Studies (Social Care) and moved home from Australia, having lived there for the past 5 years. Vicky is originally from Limerick and started her dental career in Old Quarter Dental Limerick with Dr Paul O Connell (partner at 3Dental) where she received extensive training in the Dental field.
Vicky worked between Limerick and Dublin before moving to Dublin to take up a full time post as a Dental Assistant with 3 Dental. Vicky is now the Orthodontic Coordinator at 3Dental. Vicky has completed the Laura Horton “Ultimate Dental Practice” course and also the CPR – Basic Life Support course.

Karen began her dentistry career in Jose Antonio Paez University in Venezuela from 2010-2016 graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Science (B.Dent.Sc). In 2016 She moved to Ireland to improve her English knowledge.
She gained knowledge in different aspects of dentistry throughout her internships in college. She has a particular interest in orthodontics and endodontics treatment. In 2017 She joined 3 dental team.
Louise Madge, Dental Nurse
Louise graduated from Marino College Dublin in Jan 2016 where she received her National Diploma in Dental Nursing from the NEBDN.
During her time she worked in various clinics in Naas. In her final few months of college Louise moved to Galway where she resided there for over a year before joining 3Dental.
Louise has a keen interest in Implantology, Facial Asthetics and nervous patients. Her main goal is to see you leave feeling less anxious than what you did coming in.
Jessica Wall, Dental Nurse
Jessica qualified from Marino college in 2014 and has 4 years experience, she has a distinction in first aid and a FETAC level 6 in word processing. Since joining 3Dental Jessica has experienced all aspects of dentistry and has a keen interest in surgical procedures and facial aesthetics Jess enjoys her role at 3Dental and is also a mother to a young daughter
Kim Kelly , Dental Nurse
Kim qualified from Marino college in 2014 and received her Diploma in Dental nursing from the NEBDN. She has experience in different aspects of dentistry including general dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics and oral surgery. She loves her role at 3dental and Enjoys being part of a patients journey to a healthy smile.
Shannon Dolan , Dental Nurse
Shannon Dolan graduated from Marino college of further education in 2017. She has 3 years experience in all aspects of dentistry with a keen interest in general dentistry, prosthodontics and oral surgery. She loves working in dentistry as it is a great feeling to help people achieve the perfect smile. She also has a distinction in First Aid
Ailbhe O'Sullivan, Dental Hygienist
Ailbhe O’Sullivan studied Dental Hygiene at University College Cork, graduating in 2015.
Prior to this she studied Liberal Arts at Mary Immaculate College Limerick, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Media & Communications in 2013.
Ailbhe is a registered member of the Irish Dental Hygienists Association and frequently updates her skills and knowledge as part of her continuing professional development.
As part of the Dental Hygiene Diploma, Ailbhe successfully completed courses in Intra Oral and Panoramic Dental Radiography, plus “Brief Interventions for Tobacco Cessation.”
Ailbhe is a thorough and methodical worker. She is passionate about providing and promoting oral health care.

Ciara Ward, Front of House
Ciara completed her Leaving cert in 2015 and Went straight into working full time, working in Brown Thomas Grafton Street during the busy christmas months, In January 2016, then went to River Island where she worked full time before coming to 3Dental in August.
She has volunteered coach football for children with disabiltes every Saturday morning for 2 years, and is certified in child protection, Completed manual handling courses and is certified in CPR.
Niamh Wilton, Front of House
Niamh started her working career in the sporting retail industry. Her continued knowledge and determination saw her progress to supervisor. Niamh’s customer service skills are exceptional due to the experience gained in working in an extremly busy flagship store.
Niamh has brought all her skills to 3Dental with her and continues to look after the needs of our patients at 3Dental. Niamh has keen interest in personal training and keeping fit.
Shauna Gannon, Front of House
Shauna has over 7 years experience in customer service. She progressed from working as a barmaid to becoming the executive assistant to the director of a major steel stockholders. She is used to working under pressure in hectic environments. The best part of her job is seeing patients leaving the clinic beaming with their new smile.
She has always aspired to be a professional ballet dancer.
Sean Phipps, Front of House
Oisin McDonnell, Senior Dental Technician
Oisín studied dental technology in Trinity College Dublin, graduating in 2012. Upon graduation, he entered a large dental practice where he gained extensive experience in many aspects of dental technology, from fixed and removable implant prosthesis to CAD/CAM all-ceramic restorations.
Oisín has been trained in the use and implementation of the Digital Smile Design concept. He is excited to be involved in an industry that is for ever developing new and better ways to achieve beautiful and consistent results for patients.
Anita, Dental Technician
Upon graduation Anita began her career working in a dental laboratory in Zadar, were she gained experience in all aspects of dental technology.
With over 10 years of experience in the field, working closely with numerous implantologists and oral surgeons, her skills and knowledge are a great benefit to the team.
Anita moved to Dublin in 2014 were she continued to work in dental technology. She enjoys her work and loves being a part of a rapidly advancing industry. Anita is a creative person who sees dental technology as a way to express herself artistically and always strives to provide her patients with a beautiful smile.
